My little girl has had a very low grade fever (99.4-99.7) off and on for two days. She's also been tugging on her ear and cranky tonight. Her sleep has been off too (but I think she's waking herself up rolling over). Do you think it could be teething? Or an ear infection? She hasn't really been around any other kids or babies lately.
If she is teething, how long could this go on before teeth pop through. I don't see any buds in her gums. Poor girl.

I wouldn't be too worried about the temperature, it isn't worrisome until it is like 102 or 103. I don't have much experience with ear infections (lucky me 
) but, DS was a little crankier during teething. I think he was cranky for a few days before they broke through. A bigger sign of teething is that EVERYTHING goes in their mouth, and maybe they don't like drinking bottles or nursing.

Tugging on the ears is a general indictation that there is an ear infection. However if she is really drooly or putting stuff in her mouth then perhaps teething. I would consult the nurse line of her doctors office. They may have some advice.

My LO is also tugging on ear with a 101. I suspect ear infection and am taking him into the pedi in the am. He did the same thing last time he had an ear infection. I have heard ppl say tugging on ears could be teething but not in my kids so far.
