I have been offering water at dinner but noticed M will sometimes drink an entire cup of water at that meal. Should I offer milk instead so she gets her milk for the day and doesn't fill up on water and not want her milk? Offer both?

Well, mine are old enough to tell me know, but I've always offered milk since they tend to distractible eaters and I worry about them actually being full when they leave the table. The milk helps keep them full, I guess, or that's how it seems like it should work.

I've been trying to give milk at any meal or snack that we eat at home. Her water cup is always out, so she gets that anytime she wants. She drinks water really well, but milk is more of a struggle. I figure she could get more thirsty at meals, and therefore be more likely to drink milk and get those calories.

We do milk at meal time and water at snack time plus offer a cup of milk while we are reading stories and bed time.

I do water at meals. My son drinks milk in the morning and before bed and I feel it's enough. He gets dairy in other forms and I am fine with that.
