he's only gone a day but i miss him already! house feels empty without him. he left yesterday afternoon to head to miami for a course he's really interested in. lucky duck! i wanted to go SO bad. i usually go on trips with him, but i'm in the 3rd trimester and we didn't think it was wise for me to fly. =( at least he's coming back tomorrow... just in time for the superbowl... although he'll be watching this alone! haha with me next to him on the computer.

My DH travels 2-3 nights a week too. Missed him like crazy in the beginning but got used to it. HAHA.

I often wonder if my husband misses me like this when I'm gone. I'm the one who travels for work, sometimes for a week at a time, sometimes for a few days. I wish he could go wih me but I'm so busy when I'm traveling, honestly, I don't have too much time to miss him.
I think staying home and having your normal schedule makes you miss the person who is traveling more. You're not changing your route at all other than the fact that he is away!

@mediagirl: yup! i think the person who's away is used to going away (typically - i used to travel for work) and the person who stays home now has to do things alone so they feel it more. lol. i'm sure ur hubby misses you SO much!
i think the one nice thing is you can do things that you wouldn't really be able to do with hubs around - like catch up on your shows, or watch movies your hubs would gag at (romantic comedies or something haha)....

awww!!! Before we had kids I HATED to be away from Rob Sr. for even a day. It would have to be a REALLY huge circumstance to keep him away from me for a night. He once went to Indianapolis for a week for business and I spent YEARS regretting not going with him. We weren't even pregnant yet at that point!! And he ended up getting upgraded to an amazing suite. Boo.
Once we had RJ, I didn't want Rob Sr. away from me because I wanted his support with the baby. Now that RJ is older, when we have to be away from each other, I don't mind nearly as much. He's got a conference this week (starting tomorrow!) but it's in Boston, so he's going to stay in the hotel Sunday night since there's a welcome reception that night, but I'm hoping he'll come home at night for the rest of the week since the days end at 5pm each day.
ETA: I forgot to mention the best part of this week-- my MIL is coming on Thursday to watch RJ, and on Friday we're leaving for my dream-- a SPA WEEKEND in Newport, RI! We're staying 2 nights and each getting 3 spa treatments on Saturday. Both our birthdays are in February, so this is a joint birthday/Valentines gift for both of us. We NEVER do anything like this, but it's been a really tough year so far for both of us for work and RJ entering his terrible twos. WOOHOO!!! I'm soooo excited!!!

My Dh travels about 1 week per month for work, and I LOVE my alone in the house time. I think it is awesome to have the place to myself, watch whatever I want on TV, get up and go to bed whenever I want, eat whatever I want, even if it isn't full proper meals. I like when he is home, as well, but we both function better with having some alone time in addition to our together time!
