At E's daycare, the kids go out unless the windchill is under 0 degrees. This means that they're in snowpants and boots every day, just to stay warm.
A few weeks ago, E came in on a day when he doesn't normally go to daycare and we found another child outside in his snowpants. Yesterday he told me that he didn't have his snowpants (I knew they should have been at school) and he had to wear someone else's. When DH dropped him off this morning he went on a room to room search for the snowpants and found them outside on a child from another room. I don't really know how to feel about this. On one hand I don't want other kids to have to go outside and be cold, but on the other hand, I provided gear for my child and don't want it ruined or unavailable when we need it.
Is it unreasonable to ask them not to use our gear on other children? Shouldn't they have a teacher available to stay in with kids who aren't properly dressed for the weather?
