My DH really wanted to find a plush Moana doll that sang for DD. It took him months to find one. We tend to browse the toy section and have definitely noticed a lack of Moana toys!

Yes! Even in Disney World a couple weeks ago we hardly saw any Moana merchandise (and the character had stopped her meet and greets). My daughter has the toddler Moana plush doll (her favorite part is when Moana helps the sea turtle at the beginning, so she loves baby Moana), so my mom also got DS a plush Maui that she found on amazon. It is not very soft and looks a little scary. I think it's like a knock off Disney toy or something.

The Disney Store had a TON of Moana stuff a couple months ago. I think with Beauty and the Beast, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and Cars 3 all in theaters/coming out they scaled back on Moana stuff to make room. There used to be a huge wall, then it was a platform, now it's just random things dispersed around the store (we were just there today). I noticed Target had a lot of their Moana stuff on clearance right before Beauty and the Beast came out. The Disney Store had a set with figurines (as did JC Penney...my MIL bought it for my son when the movie came out) but I'm not sure if they are in store anymore.

Not MOAna, but we have felt the same way about MLP and it turns out the dollar store has a good selection. So maybe check the Dollar store/Walmart/TJ Maxx?

I'm in Australia, and haven't found any moana toys recently - when the movie came out before christmas I managed to get the toddler and baby moana (bottom shelf picture above), but recently for DD's 5th birthday my MIL bought some off ebay - a moana snowglobe jewellery box (top shelf in the picture above) and a beautiful barbie type doll with gorgeous hair and accessories that plays a song when you press a button on her hand.

I have been surprised that there isn't more Moana stuff too! My 5 yo DD loves it (replacing frozen and my 22 mo old DS likes the songs. I know when I went to get Easter basket stuff at target I could still find lots of frozen stuff but slim pickings for Moana.

It has a regular sized Moana with real hair, a big Maui with plastic hair and the two animals. She plays with it a lot but did initially ask why there was no boat. I have not found a good boat yet and she stopped asking.
