I didn't do any reading at all to prepare. Don't regret it, but I would say sleep too.

I'm wondering this too. I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with how unprepared I feel for labor and bringing little miss home. I'm torn between whether I need to read a little more or if I'm just being neurotic.

I would have made sure both me and my spouse knew the 5Ss cold. They have a great video, which would've been great to watch together.

As you know, I'm not a Mom yet, but my best friend said she wished that she watched lots of breastfeeding videos. (But it turned out that it wasn't her fault, as the baby was tongue tied and no one noticed until he was 2 weeks old).

Sleep/wake patterns. I had no idea until I started reading when LO was a few weeks old. Then it all fell into place!

We got Heading Home With Your Newborn from our pediatrician, which was helpful but not essential. The only one I wish I had read before becoming a sleep deprived zombie was Happiest Baby on the Block.
I feel like I hyper-prepared for breastfeeding, but there is so much I didn't "get" until I had a baby to try it out on. Even then reading wasn't as helpful as having one lactation consultant to talk to (we talked with many at the hospital, and got so many different opinions).

Thanks! Other than watching the 5s's video, what would you suggest for sleep/napping reads?

Honestly, I didn't read any books nor did I read many blogs about pregnancy / baby with the exception of my What to expect iphone app.
I think maybe breastfeeding? but then again... would have i really read it? haha.
