I love this one, but not sure if my mother would wear it either. She's the difficult one for me.
I think I would give anyway. Then everyone gets the same and there's no this one was gifted jewelry and this one flowers, etc.

My grandmother had a grandmother's ring and she wore it all the time. She absolutely loved it.

I feel like it's a lose lose situation so do whatever is easiest for yourself!! Whatever happened to the sentiment that it's the thought that counts, right?

@BandDmommy: well if you gave her something like this before and she told you she didn't like it I wouldn't buy it again.

What didn't she like about it? I wonder if you turned it into a key chain if she would like it more?

Does MIL wear necklaces? I'd love to get my mom something like this but she doesn't wear jewelry aside from stud earrings and a watch

@BandDmommy: as a side story when I was in 8th grade my BFF got her step mom a pearl bracelet from the dollar store and put it in a fancy box - she LOVED it!!!! Had no clue where it came from

@BandDmommy: Just give her a Tiffany's gift card for the price you would have paid on the necklace.

@BandDmommy: I mean if she told you what she likes, it makes sense to say that you were going to buy her a necklace, but wanted to take head to her last comments on the gift you gave.

ETA: I wish my MIL would give me direct guidance. I'm always just blindly shopping for her and never know if she even likes my gift (we live far away).

@BandDmommy: It's at least a start. Just tell her you knew that was the only kind of jewelry she wore and you wanted to buy her something comparable to what you bought your mother.
