I've accepted that if I want something or to do something for Mother's Day then I need to just spell it out for DH. That being said, do you have any plans or want anything specific? I need some inspiration.

I am right there with you! I told DH that I want a grill and to spend the day doing yard clean up and planting.

I learned at Christmas that just verbally communicating what I want is not enough. I need to make my own plans and send a link to specific gifts. I asked for a cute mug for Mother's Day, we'll see if I get it

Same!! I told DH I just want half the day at home by myself. We will see if he can get everyone out of the house for the day!

Admittedly, I'm pretty particular about jewelry and clothes, but I also have to send links to DH for any gifts. I also have to remind him several times to buy a card....
We'll be on vacation, so I'm just going to pick where I want to eat and I scoped out a place for ice cream. I also bought myself a Pandora bracelet last week and told DH that could be my gift. (it's way more money than we'd normally spend on gifts.)

I think we're going to see my parents for breakfast in the morning, and then DH has an idea for dinner. I'm hoping to get some time to myself in the middle of the day. Awhile ago I had told DH that all I really want is 24 hours in a hotel by myself, but that's definitely not happening. I'm disappointed but trying to be realistic since we're trying to save money - it doesn't really matter if he forgot.
