we were just gifted this awesome baby monitor but now we can't figure out the best place to put the camera. For those of you who have this, did you mount the camera on the wall using a bracket?

that's exactly the one I'm going to get! We have the summer infant day to night one now and the hand held receiver is pretty much dead... the sound goes in and out intermittently and the battery doesn't last more than a couple of hours.
Not sure how the motorola one works but we mounted the camera of the summer infant one to the wall, high up almost touching the ceiling, above the crib. We positioned it so that if it fell, it would hit the crib's back railing instead of fall into the crib (it would still fall into the crib but the fall would be broken by the crib railing). We just had to put a screw in the wall and hung it by a hole in the back of the camera.

No advice because we don't have one.... but just wanted to say yay for that awesome gift! We didn't think we'd need a video monitor but now I really wish we had one.

yeah I was so happy with this gift and not expecting it at all since we dont have a registry or anything. we tested it yesterday and it has so many great features!

We have our monitor on LO's dresser. She' has a queen sized floor bed so it's far enough that we can see the entire bed.

We're getting this monitor too! My bro and sis-in-law have it now, and they've mounted it high on the wall.

We had it mounted on the top of the armoire. It looked directly down into the crib...not sure if we could have put it in a better place, we kind of both just agreed to mount it there without testing it in other locations.

I mounted it on the wall, didnt need a bracket, just a screw in the wall (luckily found a stud on the first try) and it slipped right onto the screw. The only thing that aggrevates me is, since i put it on the wall at the head of the crib, the baby will always be upside down on the monitor. Dont know why that bothers me, but it does!

Thanks everyone. we will probably get a little metal bracket from home depot and then attach it to the wall
