Where did/do you get moving boxes from? Did you go somewhere and ask for them or just buy them? We close on our house March 8 and I have yet to pack a thing! EEK!

We get a ton of boxes of books and office supplies at work, so I took a bunch home. I also got liquor store boxes, because they are perfect for packing glasses if you keep the inserts from wine bottles. I was skeptical of getting grocery store ones because I've heard of issues with pests and things like that.
But, we were moving from two small apartments to one small apartment, so it's not like we had a ton to pack. This move we may need to actually BUY some... -
I used some paper boxes from work but I bought a bunch from U-haul. I also used a lot of garbage bags for clothes.

When we moved ourselves we got them off Craigslist free section

I guess since we've been renovating our current house while trying to buy this other house, we've taken packing a different route. We bought a lot of clear plastic containers since the stuff we put in them would have to be stored at my IL's garage while we worked for long periods of time. Some of them have been there for over a year! For all the last minute stuff, we'll probably just buy a round of cardboard boxes from Home Depot or Lowes or something so we have somewhere to shove things.

I live right by a Walmart and drive around the back sometimes because it is faster to get home and they have tonsssss of boxes compacted. I don't know if I can just go swipe them or what.
Moving sucks! I wonder if I can just buy boxes off amazon and have them delivered to me. Counterintuitive? Ha!

I got as many as I could from work. Got some at liquor stores. This was the the first time moving, I had to buy some a Home Depot cause we couldn't find any big boxes.

I would call your local grocery stores, they usually just break them down and recycle them, but if you give them a heads up you can go pick them up. We close February 28th (as of now) and I still have no boxes lol...oops!!

We got a lot for free on Craigslist and also bought some from UHaul who will by back the ones your don't use....

I got mine from my parents (who had recently moved), Kroger/grocery stores, and dollar stores. Walmart usually won't give you boxes, as they flatten them, and I don't know about other stores.

I looked on craigslist and people are selling them and there's only a couple listings.
i live in a far suburban town with not many surrounding areas. might try sams!

I like Home Depot boxes the best. They are much sturdier than U Haul ones and come in a nice variety of sizes. I don't really like the grocery store thing, too many small boxes.

@matador84: I buy them. Especially the big ones. They are much sturdier and hold up really well to being chucked around. I never used to buy boxes, but recently started to after I realised that I couldn't get enough big ones by scrounging and it just made packing/moving much harder to have so many small ones floating about.
