My DH and I started to watch, but quickly realized that we're apparently old and didn't know who a lot of the people were.
Nicki Minaj definitely had a wardrobe malfunction, but I thought she handled it well. And yes, when did leotards in public become a thing? I was a gymnast and ballerina, and they definitely have their time and place... But onstage? Gyrating like strippers? Between that and the bikini / underwear look Minaj sported in her first section, I feel like we're sending the wrong message to our daughters - that you have to be mostly naked to be sexy, that your body is the most important thing, and that shaking your rear end while practically naked is not only ok, it's cool. When did I turn into Maxine from the Hallmark cards? Put some damn clothes on and quit objectifying yourselves.
Um, rant over... I do want to fast forward the recording until I get to Maroon 5's performance. Adam Levine... Drool... (too skinny for me in real life, but hot damn is he pretty!)

Yes, Nicki couldn't get her dress to zip up. Thank goodness she had a head mic because she needed both hands to keep that dress shut.
Leotards are IN in a big way. Short mini-dresses should make a comeback too.
The VMAs was so boring. The celebs in attendance looked crazy bored too. Hello J-Lo, smile, you received a swag bag! Did you know Beyonce actually won four awards that night? It's an award show, how about showing the categories and winners MTV? The multi-stage thing is distracting. Bring out the artists on the main stage - one stage. Where were all of the artists? I only saw the same 12-15 people all night. MTV draw a crowd of celebs puhlease!

I actually thought Taylor Swift looked awesome - I don't personally like the leotard look but she is young and its an award show - she pulled it off!

I watched the Red Carpet and the first half hour. It's on my DVR so I may watch the performances later today. I loved the audiences faces during Nicki Minaj's performance.

I turned it on because everyone on FB was talking about Beyonce's performance. I don't have any of Beyonce's CD, I don't hate her but I just think her music is okay. Maybe one or two songs are good from her current album. Anyway, I watched the preformance. It was ok.
I saw the part where the homeless guy accepted Miley Cyrus's award. That was different. But I heard that it was staged and Miley knew she was getting that award.
I do think JLo looked amazing in that dress.
I saw the article about Jim Carrey saying a joke about Ebola and then he ended up tripping and falling. I was hoping to catch that on one of the reruns but I didn't.
I do think I'm getting too old for these shows. I hardly can listen to the radio nowadays.
I was looking for pics of Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. I don't think they attended this year.

@Ginabean3: Ugh, I never knew how old she was. I looked and she was born in 1969. I'm 14 years younger than her and I do not look like that.. Especially after JLo having twins. I haven't had kids yet and I never looked like that. Haha.
