I lost part of my mucus plug this afternoon. I'm 35w2d. Has anyone else lost their plug this early and not gone into labor? I've been on bed rest for preterm contractions for several weeks anyway, but would like to keep baby in for a while longer!

I never lost any of my mucous plug until I was in active labor ( ) but I've heard if you start losing early it can regenerate.
Good luck, mama!

I lost mine at 36+4 and was in early labour then, but it was ALL of it at once. (gross!)
If it's just a portion, it could still be a while away - but if you're already on bed rest, it could mean something in your case! Have you had a chat to your docs? x

Lost mine at 32 weeks and was in labor. They stopped it and I was put on bed rest and meds until I went into labor again at 36 weeks and has DD.

I did talk to my midwife a few hours ago. There's not a lot to do unless contractions ramp up. She said it could mean nothing or it could mean that labor is imminent. I've had a few very strong contractions, but that's not too unusual. I guess we will see! This is all new territory for me since I experienced nothing like this with my first. Thanks so much for your kind words!

When I lost mine at 35+5 with my second, I had her a few days later. I lost the whole thing and had my bloody show, and the doctor still thought I wouldn't have her for a week or two because apparently it's common for it to grow back. All that to say that it's hard to say for your case, but I hope you can keep baby in for a little longer!

I lost mine at 25 weeks while on a small island many miles from home. I freaked out but everything was ok. I then lost it several times throughout the third trimester but eventually had a semi-induction (manual sweep for unrelated reasons) at 38 weeks.
