What gear did you find must useful for 2+ children?
We'd like a video monitor this time around, and are weighing the pros and cons of a double stroller (leaning against one, but would love to hear input!)

@Smurfette: haha I was thinking the same thing that there might be totally other needs here!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: um. sweetie if you have twins you will def need a double!

In all seriousness here is my list (more just thoughts so I'm sure I'm missing some):
- new swing ( getting used mamaroo)
- new bouncer or rock and play
- few new newborn and toddler towels
- new bottles (maybe try glass)?
- new baby food storage glass bowls (old set is worn)
- new set of pacis
- newborn wrap or sling (have ergo)
- new changing pad cover because ours is gross
I can't think of much else. We bought a second seat already to make our BReady a double.

-more baby towels/wash cloths
-new swing that plugs in
-crib

- more crib sheets

- new pacis
-breast feeding supplies

So far, crib, sheets, some new nipples and bottles, new car, new home... Guess I should start thinking about this.

I can't imagine existing without a double stroller.....
We didn't need much for our second baby, but most of that stuff was worn out for the third so this time around we had to replace stuff.

i didn't get much besides a new furniture since we set up a separate nursery and bottles i think.

@Smurfette: haha!!
How far apart in age will they be? Our double was helpful and LO's were 3 years apart exactly...but #1 still took naps in the stroller too.
Baby wearing saved me so a good carrier is my suggestion.

@HLK208: 35 months!
We hardly use our stroller anymore. I always take it to places like the zoo, but Chloe likes to walk around & I end up pushing it while she walks with DH. same at the mall.. I just don't even take it anymore.
The only reason I can see needing one is going for walks in our neighborhood. Maybe I can find one used?!
But yes, I plan on getting things like new bottles, furniture, blankets, etc.

I'm thinking the following:
Swing
Carrier of some kind
Double stroller (mine will only be 20 months apart)
New wash cloths/towels
New bibs and burp cloths
Personalized things like blanket, bibs, etc

The must haves for survival for me have been a good carrier (I use both an ergo and a moby) and a swing/bouncer/somewhere where the baby can be safely contained while I deal with the needs of DS.

I never used my Moby with DS1 but I used it constantly with DS2 so he could nap peacefully instead of getting his pack n play shoved by DS1.

@beaker: that made me giggle. I can't imagine that Chloe will make nap time for her brother or sister very easy!
Our existing gear is gender neutral so we don't have to buy anything new there -- I've already got the moby, pack n play, bassinet, rock n play, etc. we'd like a video monitor this time around, and I'll buy new accessories like towels, bottles, etc.
@Running Elley: good idea! I think an ergo would be great. DH would use that before he used the moby!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: We got an ergo for that very reason! I usually use it while I'm home along with both of them but DH carried DS in the ergo a TON!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: yup. "Why is (baby) sleeping? I'm going to wake him up!" was said a lot
