We were in the toothpaste aisle at BRU (thanks to MAbroad's toothpaste post) and I let my baby hold the tube but decided on another flavored one. She screamed when I tried to take it away so I let her hold it while I shopped. Lo and behold, 30 minutes later, I put my bags in the trunk of my car and unhooked her Ergo and out fell $5 Jason's toothpaste. We took it back and got a nice thank you from the cashier. Even though babe is only 1 year, she got the speech from me about how we need to bring things back to the store if we didn't pay for them. Never too early to start...right?!

Too funny! We haven't had any "shoplifter" moments yet but I remember my sister took a pack of gum form a local deli when we were little, My mom made her bring it back and apologize (she hadn't opened the pack or anything). There was much crying & embarassment from my sister, but to my knowledge, she never took anything without paying ever again!

I bought the Earth's Best one. I think Mrs. Bee recommended. Banana/strawberry. It came with a little finger toothbrush which was the clincher.

My LO has taken chocolate from the shelves under the cash registers at a drugstore. She was in her stroller and about 18 months at the time. I didn't realize it til we were back home though, so I returned it the next day. It was king size Reese's peanut butter cups

When my bonus son was 2 we were in target and half way home he said, "Ut oh!" When I turned around he showed me a chapstick he had taken. He started crying right away. We took it back and because he was sobbing the cashier gave him a coupon for a free popcorn lol.
