My iPad was on the couch and DS pulled it off onto the floor. Nothing shows on the screen, it is just blue. I am taking it to the apple store today. I really hope it can be fixed, it's not even a year old yet! Should I be hopeful or start saving for a new one?

@sweetkate: if he did buy you AppleCare+ they will replace it for $50. You should ask him!

I think if it's not a year old yet it might still be covered in some way? I broke (as in completely shattered) a not-yet-year-old ipad once and they asked me if I wanted to replace it for half cost.

So I just got back. Since it was still under warranty and there was no physical damage they replaced it for free! The guy did say though that if there had been physical damage he wouldn't have been able to since I didn't have the AppleCare. He just wrote it off as non operational. I am so incredibly relieved!
