@lawbee11: Yep, totally normal. It can be exhausting and limiting(!), but it will pass. You may be surprised about running errands though . . . she may be so distracted by the new environment that she won't fuss to feed or will take a paci (if you are offering her one).

I've noticed C eating more frequently again since hitting the 5 week mark. She's always been a frequent eater but its definitely increased. I have to hold off in the evenings just to make a little more milk. I'll let you know when it passes! (5.5 weeks and still going).

It is very normal. One thing that really helped me was being able to nurse in a wrap discreetly while we were out and about. It made it possible to do so many things in those early days, from grocery shopping to a day at the zoo. I wore a nursing tank under a regular shirt so that there was no exposed skin, and I was able to walk around and do any other normal activity while nursing at the same time.

@Mrs. Twine: I want help getting started!! Will you do a blog post on nursing in carriers?! I have a nine month old and people always talk about nursing the ergo and I just do.not.get.it. Her face is way higher than my nipple?

@MamaMoose: in order to make it work, you need to loosen the straps so that your LO sits lower--it's not going to be the most comfy position for you to wear her like that for long periods of time, but while she's nursing it should be ok! Play around with teh strap length at home just while wearing her, you'll figure it out.

@lawbee11: I read that your boobs will also stop being quite so full at this point, even when you have plenty of milk in there. They are just getting more efficient, or so says the Internet. I have a harder time when they are so full that there is not give to latch on to.

totally normal!! My LO was a constant nurser the first 3 or so months! I seriously thought something was wrong or my milk was not filling her- I did so much research on it and drove myself crazy thinking she was going to nurse every 30 mins-1 hour forever! i think she just went through a bunch of back to back growth spurts and she liked to comfort nurse. i spent soooo many days and nights on our couch nursing her, only getting up to pee. I talked to LC's and they said it was totally normal and she was gaining weight like a champ, so I tried to just stop worrying about it. it will pass, trust me! I would say around 4 months or so she started going every 2-3 hours.

Yes. 2-3 is just an average, most babies differ from that. Mine was very frequent too.

Never thought I would say this since those weeks were such a struggle in no many ways for me, but I miss them too! They will pass, she will become more efficient and you may want them back! Hard to believe right now, though, I know!

@lawbee11: the not so great part for my nipples is that I actually did pump while she ate it! So i guess her nursing wasnt a full sessiin but i stopped pumping after only ten minutes bc i could see where this was heading. I feel like shields are the wrong size on top of that so my boobies are tired. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

@StbHisMrs: I have the same issue as you. I only pump a couple of times a week, after she goes down for a morning nap. I shower and pump right away so its probably only an hour after her last feeding but I have time to replenish before she wakes up. If she doesn't take a good nap or I'm busy or tired, I just don't do it.

@lawbee11: this morning we have a new schedule. Eat for 30 minutes or so, nap for ten, whine/ fuss / bounce for 10, repeat. Yay. Good thing I have some movies on my dvr.

@lawbee11: I hope after her nap she was happier to be held by her grandma! C finally went down too, and I decided to nap while the baby napped. Feeling better already!

Now if the neighbors awful dog wakes her, ill kill him.
