Almost 8 weeks PP, and almost a year since her last visit, Auntie Flow is on her way into town. Ugh.
When they say your first period after baby is a doozy, THEY AIN'T LYIN'. She hasn't even arrived yet, and I'm already miserable. The cramps seriously feel like early labor. I've spent most of the day folded in half. Somebody get me an epidural!
I'm so dreading the next few days.

Ugh, so NOT looking forward to THAT aunt's return visit. I can't commiserate, but I really hope you feel better. Stock up on all of those feel better goodies (and hey...baby snuggles could make it better! Use baby as a heating pad lol).

Ugh! Maybe it'll be a false alarm?... I know I thought the winch was coming around Christmas but she delayed 2.5 more months. We can hope anyways, right?!

@MamaMoose: yeah!! I don't BF though. I'm actually KIND OF ready for her to be back. Doc won't put in my Mirena until I've had a cycle, and I'm ready for some BC!

@photojane: Really? My doc is putting in at about seven weeks postpartum. When we discussed it, he didn't mention me needing to have a cycle first but I might have one before then. I'm BF but not exclusively since I had a breast reduction in 2010.

@NaturallyCathy: Yeah... I went in for my 6 week check-up, and the midwife I saw scheduled me for my doctor to put it in on Tuesday. Then the day after my check-up, a nurse called & said that the doctor didn't want to do my IUD until after my first period. She didn't give a reason, but I figure it has something to do with the hormones regulating since I'm not BFing.

Thankfully mine hasn't shown up yet. Baby started STTN when he was 1 month old too! I got it back at 7 months pp the first time, but hoping I don't see AF for at least another year! Gonna nurse for as long as I can!

She just visited me too, yesterday so I completely understand. Ugh. I still nurse before most feedings but it's only like a snack to B. It obviously wasn't enough to keep Auntie away. It was ironic that she came too bc i just started the mini pill and it takes 2weeks to be effective so I bought us some protection in anticipation for some much needed lovin and then BAM.
Hopefully this first one was just a doozie. Goodluck with the IUD.
