Are you sure it's the covers that stink? Sometimes we can smell the cloth diaper through the cover towards morning if they need a strip, or even sometimes just because of potent "toddler pee."

@Silva: It's a pain, but it should resolve your stink issues. I haven't ever had actual stink in my wool covers after lanolizing.

@Silva: I usually do a cold rinse, soak in funk rock (made by rockin' green) or bac out or just plain vinegar/detergent (usually vinegar-- it seems to work just as well) I use warm water for the soak and soak overnight, and then cold rinse, and then super hot wash, and cold rinse. I don't have to do it often. There are some good tutorials online for stripping, but this works for us.

@Silva: we have really hard water and had to strip using Dawn. It was a pain, but was the only thing that got the funk out. A little bit goes a long way, though. We also found that sun drying really helped keep odor down.
