Did you read The Chronicles of Narnia in publication order or chronological order?
I just started the Lion, Witch, Wardrobe. Do I need to read all of the books before I watch the movie?

I can't remember the order I read them in...I was too young. These are my all time favourites! If I were you I'd read all the books, regardless of order, before seeing the movies. I actually don't really like the movies, because they're not true enough to the books for me. They're good movies, but I think because I know the books so well, I just can't enjoy the movies. Happy reading!

I read them in Chronological order. I think each movie only covers one book at a time (?) and I don't think they ever cover the "The Magician's Nephew" at all. I'm not sure though, I haven't seen the movies.

When I was growing up, I read them in publication order. It was kind of cool reading The Magician's nephew later and seeing the pre-story.
Those were my favorites growing up and I read the whole series probably half a dozen times. They just never got old for me!

I believe I read them in publication order when I was little. I recently retread TLTWaTW and whoa! It was like reading a totally different book - the things that went totally over my head as a kid were super obvious as an adult reader (sexism, the strong Christianity message, etc.). It was fun retreading it again, and "discovering" it for the first time - at the same time!

I read the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe first, and then read them all in chronological order. One of my favorite series!

I've only read LWW and never had more than a passing interest in the others! I liked teaching it to my students and the Christian message is so interesting!

My dad got a boxed set & read them all to me. Awesome books. The movies are good but definitely read all the books!
