I noticed a couple days ago my newborn had yellow gunk on her collar. It kind of looked like just sweat under her neck rolls. I looked at her neck today and the skin is incredibly dry and red. Aquaphor? Call dr?

My doc said just straight vaseline in the early weeks. It worked for us on our LO's dry wrists and ankles/feet.

We used the thick Nivea lotion on her dry feet/wrists/ankles and it worked really well.

The look of the yellow on her collar makes me think that it's oozing, I would call a doctor for that.

Ouch! I agree with @kiddosc: that is a little too red for my liking.
It took me longer than I care to admit to realize I needed to wipe his neck gunk down daily, it never occurred to me that he was storing food in there for the winter.

Ugh I forgot our pedi office closes at 1130 on wed. Poor baby!@MrsTiz: I totally realized that with my son! Their little neck rolls just hide so much!,

I would use Aquaphor until you can get in to see the Ped . . . I wouldn't put Nivea on a NB.

Ouch, that looks sore! Poor kiddo.
I used Earth Angel Baby Balm on her for the first little while, then Aveeno baby.

For something like that, I would use Vaseline or Aquaphor, but I would also go see the doctor. Poor baby

I use coconut oil on DDs neck rolls if they get a little red. I also wipe them every morning and evening. The good thing about infant skin is it heals so fast! So hopefully it will be back to normal quick after the dr. appt.
