Hive, I need advice.
I conceived my daughter on my third round of 100mg of clomid. A previous round of 50mg didn't cause me to ovulate. I was not monitored by US while on clomid, just progesterone testing on CD21. I've decided to start treatment again this summer to try and conceive another. We've been trying, but aside from one chemical pregnancy, no luck. I've just stopped nursing her, and my cycles have always been very irregular. Fertility problems run in my family.
I'm hoping for is a little advice. My midwives are willing to cycle me on clomid on my previously successful protocol. I'm not sure that's the best choice. It took three tries to get pregnant the last time. Not a ton, but not the immediate success many have.
Should I just rerun this protocol? Should I seek out an OBGYN who could consider a different protocol? My husband has already agreed to a sperm analysis, which might change the plan entirely. I'm just not sure if I should give the clomid another few tries, or immediately seek something a little bit more serious. I really hated the way clomid made me feel, so that's a consideration. We also wanted our children to be 2 years apart, and that obviously isn't happening.
Also a consideration is that my midwife care would be covered by insurance, but an OBGYN might not be.
