Need more ideas!

I'm due in December, and while I feel like we have a solid handful of girl names to choose from, I'm struggling to feel connected to any of our boy choices.

Here are his top four and mine, chosen from our mutually agreed upon long list (yes, Calvin is on both of them, but I just don't know if that's "the one"):

DH:
Dexter - I like it okay, but maybe worry about it with DH's last name
Ezra - this used to be my top pick, but I worry about its popularity
Declan - meh
Calvin

Me:
Silas
Jonas
Calvin
Casper

So, you can see we're looking for something known but not too popular. Any fresh suggestions?

@lady baltimore: my picks were what you're thinking! i was obsessed eith the name wilder and always will be even though we went with a traditional family name. ethan was my second choice.

I like Casper the best out of those. Also Jasper has been a favourite of mine forever, what about that?

@Ms. RV: I like Colin a lot, but DH nixed it (he coaches and I teach, so a LOT of names have "baggage" for one or the other of us).

@mrschickpea: I love Jude and Emmett! I might have to keep floating those past DH, as I find sometimes he comes around to a name the more he hears it.

@illumina: I ADORE Jasper, but friends have a dog named that, so it is totally off the table for DH. We have not settled on a MN yet - DH and I have different last names, so we are still deciding if we are going to hyphenate for the kid, have two non-hyphenated last names, or use one last name as a MN.

@JenGirl: I've been calling the baby "Cal" some of the time, just to see if it will feel more right as I get used to it. I do think it's adorable. Do you mind my asking what you decided to go with instead?

Other names I think you might like are;

@lady baltimore: I think Calvin is really cute! If you like Casper, a girlfriend of mine just named her son "Casimir" (Cas for short). I thought it was interesting! Also, unsolicited two cents: DH and I decided to double-barrel our LO's last name with a hyphen. I don't really like the hyphen aesthetically, but I think it makes it very clear that the last name is double-barreled. And since I'm the one growing and birthing this baby, you can believe I'm not settling on using my last name as a middle!

Friends of mine used the historical Spanish copulative conjunction "y" - think "Calvin Smith y Jones" - I think it's really cool, but I'm not that gutsy!

I really like Calvin, but if it's not it- it's not it! I feel like you guys are really close- in my baby name book it lists Ezra and Jonas as brothers!

@WinterBee: Asher is another one that I love, but worry about its popularity. Unfortunately, DH vetoed Miles/Milo.

@ms.line: Thanks for the input. I think the primary thing holding me back from hyphenating is that my last name already has an apostrophe, and I see what fits that gives computers. We have talked about using my last name as a FN (with the nn "Oak"), but DH isn't wild about it, and I don't know that I love it enough to push it.

@lady baltimore: Oh yeah, the apostrophe makes it harder... ugh, so annoying your decision has to be influenced by the shortcomings of technology!!

@lady baltimore: My friend named her baby Asher, I'd never even heard of it, aside from GoT. I think it's adorable. I don't think it's overly popular right now though, at least not here.

I have a Calvin! I am definitely biased, but I think it's a great name. We call him Cal probably half of the time, but right now he introduces himself as Calvin. We also considered Miles, Percy and Landon, but so glad we went with Calvin!
