Hi bees! I was wondering if someone could help me out. We have a closet/cabinet in our laundry room and one of the door hinges has broken off. It looks like the place where it was screwed in is just really worn.
Does anyone know how I could go about fixing it? See the picture below.

two possible ideas:
1. fill in the holes with wood putty and when it's dry (wait a few days) reattach.
2. can you rehang the door? Take it off all the hinges and rotate it 180? You'll probably need to remove and reattach the handle too.

I would take that hinge off and reattach it at a lower part so that you're below the existing homes. You can't see the hinges and holes from the outside, right?

I would either patch the holes with putty and reinstall but with short screws that have a point at the end - your existing screws look like flat ends, which are more conducive to popping out. Depending on the thickness of the cabinet you can go with a longer screw too but obviously you don't want it to go through the cabinet wall.

I would not move the hinge bc it looks like the piece on the door is attached using a hole that is cut into the door and unless you have a tool that can do that it's going to be a pain.

Also suggest wood putty, let it dry and reattach with pointy screws!

@gingerbebe: You are correct, this is how it's attached. I don't think I could move the hinge easily. The screws are not shown on the other side of the door.
Thanks so much for the suggestions everyone! I will try the wood putty. My husband and I don't really know much about this kind of stuff. I didn't know wood putty was a thing! We will try that.
