I like neutral nurseries with no overwhelming theme, personally.

I've seen some really cute boy's nurseries with a subtle woodland theme, with a realistic (not cartooney) tree painting/decal, browns, greens, and creams.

No babies for me, but I've got major baby fever, so I have definitely looked at nursery inspiration boards. I am with you on the color over heavy theme--I am not into the heavy themes either.

What about a nautical color scheme? Like white and navy stripes. Maybe some red accents or some rope accents. There is probably cute artwork with sailboats or anchors.

I think that you can still do grey, yellow, and white for boys.

I also really like white, navy and green for a boys room.

Pinterest has great nursery inspiration! I love navy and lime green for a boys room.

Why not use your yellow and grey theme. It's totally appropriate for boys!

I wish I had pics, but my friend just put together an adorable nursery for her boy - light teal walls (with one sandy brown accent wall) - dark brown furniture, light tan glider chair, and then light brown bedding with light teal accents. Its sort of restoration hardware like, I love it. The bedding is carousel designs - taupe and mist colors.

I think you can still do the gray, white and yellow color scheme for boys. I think it is neutral enough to work. Have you checked out this site?

It helped me come up with a color palette for my twins' nursery. I also like that she has splurge and bargain ideas.

We were team green and did a grey, yellow and white nursery with some birds and owls thrown in, and I love it for my little boy! I sometimes think of adding some blues in like @Coco Bee's second picture, but I don't really think I will.

I am not a fan of the super theme, so I got my nursery bedding off of etsy (I loved picking out my fabrics), furniture from Ikea (so inexpensive and clean looking), I DIYed a few things (sewed my own felt owl and bird mobile for over the crib, and tissue pom mobile for over the change table. I also painted a growth chart. I have some word art waiting to be printed and framed and hung as well.

Here is a collage pic of it, before we brought Sawyer home. There are more finishing touches now, I just keep forgetting to go back in and take more pics until Sawyer is napping, and there is no way he would sleep through the flash (LOL)

We did light blues, light greens, white... owls/forest animals... pics on another thread in nursery!

We love color! Here's our boy nursery, still in progress.

Main color is gray, with aqua, green, and orange stripes going up one wall, across the ceiling, and down the other wall.

This would have been our boy nursery inspiration!
