I didn't know whether to put this in home, pets, or your sleep..
It's 10:45pm and someone's dog in the neighborhood will not stop barking. It's a big, deep, loud bark and it's incessant and driving me crazy, 1.5 hours of barking stinks. LO and Dh are sound asleep though. I can't help but wonder why the owners aren't stopping it. Just venting

Maybe they aren't home so they don't know? That would annoy me too but I'd never do anything about it.

My parents have this issue, and it's been an issue for years. The owners let the dogs out for a long time in the backyard and they just bark away. It hasn't been resolved so I don't have any advice.... I just know when I'm over there I'm so annoyed and I'm just there a few hours. So I feel for you!

@ladybee: That crossed my mind, there isn't anything to do I don't think, other than being plain annoyed!
@artbee: I am glad we don't own this house! Everytime the dogs (around 15 in the neighborhood) hear a siren they all join together in a doggy choir and it's so loud. Day and night! This is why I don't make a good "city" girl, I need my space, peace, and quiet!

@StbHisMrs: Do you live in my neighborhood?? We have a problem with one of our neighbors as well. DH and I have both gone over there twice and called the cops once. He actually went over there at midnight last night because of it and told the lady that it has to stop. She responded with "oh, I didn't even notice - I was asleep until you woke me up"..........
Is there something in your HOA bylaws against barking dogs? Maybe even make a complaint to the police? Ours has been going on for over 2 months now and it's ridiculous. I'm sorry I can't offer any advice, but I can commiserate with you.

@BabyBoecksMom: Unfortunately we don't have an HOA, and I can't figure out who's dog it is!!! I'm sure they were asleep and didn't notice. Last year I was complaining about it to our neighbor (I suspect it's one of her dogs) and she told me they don't hear anything at night because they have a huge noisy fan in their bedroom and she wears earplugs. Sorry we're sharing in frustration.

@StbHisMrs: we have tons of dogs in my neighborhood, and we have a dog. He rarely barks, and we never hear barking from neighbors. Just depends on the dogs. Most dogs around here are bigger so they don't bark as much.

It doesn't solve the problem but you could try earplugs!! They've saved my life as a renter.

Argh that is so frustrating! We have one neighbor with a dog that constantly barks because he sees us behind the big cedar fence.
