I saw the pilot and thought it was ok. It sounds like it gets better!!!

The pilot was OK. It was too much like "Girls", which I hate. Like someone going to prison for the first time would say some of those things - too much entitled white girl meets real world, cliches, etc.. But, second episode was great!! Much more in the spirit of Weeds, much better overall.

DH and I watched the first two episodes today and liked it. I was curious to watch it because the woman whose memoir the show is based on came and spoke at my job last year.

The first episode we watched (pilot?) was a bit too much. We were a little shocked. But we've kept on watching and like it.

I watched two episodes--I will watch the rest but I am kind of waiting for it to get better! I find it hard to like the main character so far! Maybe that's the point.

Just started today but didn't get to finish it since my hubby thought it was dumb. Loved weeds and it's by the same creator, so I'll give it a try later on my own, but so far, not impressed.

This post made me look it up and I am now addicted. I only have 2-3 episodes left and I am super bummed! When will next season air?!?!

Just an update-I started listening to the audio book and the book is definitely different than the show. I think the show embellishes what really happened, which I am fine with because I love the show!
But in the book I think it is a more accurate story of her time there. Like things that happen to other people in the book happen to Piper in the show so I think they changed a lot of it for a more dramatic story.

@tlcbaby: interesting! i've watched the first 3 episodes and am finding the show just ok, mostly because i don't love the main character and find myself continuously thinking "what did you expect?!" when things happen to her...It sounds like i might appreciate the book a little more.

I started watching it this weekend & I'm 4 episdoes in. The pilot was a little graphic, I was little turned off by their use of "shock" factor, but once I got over that I like it! I'm liking the story lines & them going into different characters, I'm now very interested in the season finale! haha
