Anyone? Anyone?
It's ALMOST SPRING! (kind of, just leave me to it). Anyone want to start planning meetup #2?!

YES I have been meaning to throw this out there...!!! We have been in craziness but one more trip this weekend and we will finally have a moment to breathe.

If we do it somewhere that's T accessible, I'm much more likely to be able to make it, but I know that doesn't really work for everyone...

Ok time to really dive into this since I'm back from our trip and I can finally look at our calendar and not have a heart attack!!!
Omg it's ALMOST MARCH!!! (cue another heart attack) I'd say let's wait for the warmer weather so we can meet at a park outdoors but I don't wanna wait that long to meet up with you all again ;D
I'm still optimistic about meeting at an Isis so our LOs have space to spread out and play, while keeping it casual for those without LOs as well! Even if we can't get a private drop-in playgroup going (what I tried to do last time and they just stopped responding to my emails because I think it was too hard to get the staff together for it) we can always just all show up at a scheduled playgroup. The Boston location (in the Prudential mall) has them on Sunday evenings from 5-6pm. I know that's kinda late but it would still be enough time to get babies home for 6:30 bedtimes, hopefully, even if some people have to jet at 5:30 to get home in time.
The drop in playgrounds are free for Isis members, $8/family for non-members. Parking at the Prudential is pricey ($12 with validation from Isis for up to 4 hours) BUT it's T-accessible for those without cars.
There is also another option: the Indoor Playground in Watertown. We've been here once and it's pretty great. There's a large section for older kids with tons of toys and ride-ons and all kinds of stuff, and a section for smaller babies and kids where we could congregate in a circle and just chat and talk while the babies crawl around and play.
It looks like the first child is $12, first adult is free, and additional fees for additional adults and children:

Free parking and obviously we can come and go at any time so we could meet at a more baby-friendly time like 3 or 4. And it looks like we might be able to get a group discount! If we decide on this, I can call ahead and figure out the discount details.
What say you all?? Any other ideas?

The Watertown playgroup sounds pretty awesome! ISYS at 5-6 is tough for the bedtime.
Are we thinking March? I have a crazy spring (in a wedding so have a bachelorette, shower, and the wedding, and a work retreat) but really want to meet up.

I'm going to tentatively say I'll be there, but my first LO is due in March, so I'm not really sure how I'm going to feel or if I'll be up for it! But I'd love to finally meet you New England ladies!!

Watertown sounds a bit better to me. But, either way I would be interested depending on when!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
btw I would vote for Watertown, I think (Wagon Sr. can chase Wagon Jr. around the big kids area! they'd love it!) and I would vote for trying to sneak it in before March....!! Then we can plan our third one in late March or early April for outdoors!!! Even if it ends up being a small group I'd still love to try for this or next weekend. We're free both Saturdays and Sundays. I think 3:30-4:30pm would be a good time.

@mrs. wagon: Dang, I'm out both of the next weekends. We are away in NH this weekend and then next weekend is my SIL's bachelorette party weekend.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@mrs. wagon: I won't be able to do the next couple weekends either - I'll have to meet you ladies at hopefully the next meet-up after my LO is here!

Sounds like a good idea but I have no clue how far away Watertown is from me.

@mrs. wagon: I could only do later afternoon this Saturday, like 4ish. One way or another I am hoping we can meet for the ergo!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@cheesetomywhine: about an hour
I may be able to! Lemme check and get back!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@bpcmarj: either way let's still meet up at 4ish on Saturday for the ergo! yay!

The next two weekends won't work for me- March is a bit hectic for me, but will try my hardest to meet up this spring.

Ummmmm Watertown would be perfect for me. I'm away til March though.

Let's do a beta test run of the Watertown location this Saturday for whoever can make it.. then another meetup in late March or early April!
So Saturday, February 23rd at 4:00pm at the Indoor Playground in Watertown. We'll meet in the babies' area (when you enter, you'll see the huge big kids' area in front of you... you can walk through there or the bathroom to the left to get to the babies' area). The Wagons will get there around 3:45pm so you can just look for me!! I'll try to find a corner and settle in with LMW!
If you are germaphobic, be sure to bring some antibacterial wipes! The place is clean enough to my liking but these indoor playgrounds can be total germ factories so I just wanted to note that

Aww.. well.. I'm sorry to miss it, but.. I'll be on my babymoon, so not that sorry Have fun!

yay, new meetup! i'm down for whatever. either prudential or watertown would be fine... I'll just drive, obviously parking in the city is a little tricky but that's OK - heading to the Pru means a stop at Pinkberry - YUM.
we have random things happening various weekends so whatever works for the group!

@mrs. wagon: I am sooooo depressed!! This is literally walking distance from my house & Saturday at 4pm is Disney on Ice. waaaahhhhh
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@rachiecakes: nooooo depression!! We'll do another one within 4 weeks. PROMISE!!!
pomegranate / 3729 posts
@lisa1783: I am thinking of going after our get together if you want to come with me!!
@mrs. wagon: so, is this happening? Are we the only ones who can go? Ha
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@bpcmarj: hehe... I'm definitely still down even if we are the only two! Maybe we should just meet for the ergo exchange somewhere easier for both of us if no one else joins.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
I am away the next few weekends but I'll keep an eye out for the April or later spring ones!
apricot / 457 posts
@bpcmarj: Are you going straight there? Are you having your LO nap in the car? I'll have to try and convince DH but I'll let you know!
pomegranate / 3729 posts
@mrs. wagon: yes, if it's just us we can meet somewhere easier. I am planning on dinner with a friend in Norwood so will be in your area for an easy ergo exchange!
@lisa1783: yes, will go straight there if it happens. She may nap on me when we are together, or in the car. She'll be napping in the car at some point that day for sure.
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@bpcmarj: that would be great! Where would be convenient for you to meet? And when? I can plan around you since it sounds like you are going to be out and about!
pear / 1586 posts
We are down for the next meet since this Saturday it is supposed to snow.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
same here - staying in to stay ahead of the snow, but totally down for the next meetup! should we plan a big one for march? is that too soon for people?
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
I totally hear y'all on the snow. Let's plan for March!! What days work for you guys for a 3:30ish meetup in Watertown? We can do 2nd or 3rd, 17th (St. Patty's Day!), 23rd or 24th (maybe), and 30th (31st is easter! ahh!)
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@mrs. wagon: off the top of my head, I'd probably skip the 30th because I am worried about pushing my luck with LO's bed time the night before Easter, lol! She was so tired on Christmas day because of being off schedule Christmas Eve..blah!
I'd also probably miss any Sunday (for now) because that's currently DH's only day off, so I'd hate to take LO when he's home
pear / 1586 posts
The 31st is Easter?! Wow so soon (obviously I need to pay attention to holidays...and find a dress for R). I believe we are free on all days except St. Patricks Day. Looking forward to it!
