We just added a new feature... now every user has a Wall that people can post to. Here's mine!

It's a nice alternative to private messages, for now... every wall post generates an email alert too.

Any reason you're not using something like VBulletin? It's got a PM feature.

@looch We tend to use open source and extensible programs, like WordPress. vBulletin is great, but it isn't open source and it is harder to extend the program. So for example, it wouldn't be easy to extend their PM program to make it spam resistant.

This reminds me of Meetup.com's member walls. They're public so you can just stop in and say hi and see what other people have said, as well. Hey, it's something until you can get PM going, right?
