My little boy will be two weeks on Tuesday and he has already projectile vomited in his short life. Is this normal? On Thursday evening we decided that I was going to EP so he gets bottle of breast milk and we supplement 2-4 oz per day. When he vomits, he immediately acts hungry again and I never know if I should feed him or not but I do. He never seems bothered by his vomit so I hope it is just his stomach learning how things work. Have you experienced this before?

At our 2 week check up my ped said spit up is completely normal, but projectile isn't. He said to bring her in if she ever projectile vomits. It might be reflux? If so, it's usually an easy fix!

I had my daughter in at around the same time for projectile spitting up. It was LOTS and she'd also be hungry soon after. She was gaining weight like a champ and didn't seem to be in pain from it, so it was just something we had to wait to outgrow. The projectile phase didn't last too long and she has just recently (at 5.5 months) started to get much better about spitting up in general.

They say it's not normal if it's projectile but my mom says I did all the time, and my mother in law says my husband did all the time too. We turned out ok!

My sister projectile vomited for much of her infancy. She had reflux issues. She just ate, puked, and ate some more. I might see if he has reflux issues. Ped might be able to help.

We had projectile vomiting for 8w until our ped doubled our LO's acid reflux med (Zantac). I'd always have to feed again. I don't remember doing full feedings but I'd top him off after he did it.

My LO projectile vomited and she had reflux. Hope your LO is ok!

DS projectile vomited from day one and he was later diagnosed with reflux and food allergies/intolerances. At first our pedi said "all babies spit up at that age" and overlooked his symptoms because he was growing so well. Like your LO he comfort nursed and needed to nurse constantly between the vomiting. Eventually we got a diagnosis and things started to improve but he continued to projectile vomit for most of his first year of life.

My LO projectile vomited til about he was three months old. We saw his ped b/c I was concerned about that and the gas pain he had. The ped told me to feed him propped up (he was fed pumped breastmilk in a bottle), burp him and have him propped up for awhile (I had him in an angled bouncy chair). I also changed the bottle nipple from Playtex to Dr. Brown's slow flow b/c my lactation consultant told me that a bottle nipple study from our local university concluded that Dr. Brown's is truly a slow flow. I also fed him again after he vomited b/c he was acting hungry. I was scared to, thinking he would vomit again and most of the time, he didn't.
