She wasn't sleeping well and kept fighting to get out of her swaddle so we decided to give it up. As soon as I lay her down for bed she flops over... She has been sleeping alot better now but I'm soo nervous. Shes 5 months old. How old was your LO when he/she started to sleep on their tummy? How long did it take you to feel comfortable with it?

Is she able to consistently flip back over on her own?

DS started sleeping on his belly around 6 weeks (rolled back to tummy) but wasn't able to roll both directions until ~4 months. I'm still a nervous wreck over it and he's 10 months! He sleeps with me now. At the time he only slept part of re night alone and I flipped him every chance I could for weeks. I was always checking him.

@mrbee: she doesn't flip back over. she can hold herself up with her arms extended though so I know shes strong enough... any ideas on what I should do?

@lovelife: I would definitely make sure she's getting lots of tummy time! But in the meantime, I've heard good things about this movement sensor for parents who have young belly sleepers?

@mrbee: Thanks Mr.Bee. I just went and wrapped her up so she couldn't lay on her belly.... just too nervous and I need some sleep too!

My little man slept on his stomach at 3 or 4 months as soon as he could roll in both directions. I have heard good things about the angel care but at some point he had to sleep. He had very very good head control and that helped too. We knew he could lift his head up if something happened. He was refluxy and in in pain.

Lo was about 4 1/2 months. But she would usually just flip over in the morning after waking up, not at night. Now when she's on her belly we still flip her over sometimes. She doesnt' wake up, and if she does she'll go right back to sleep. I'm just extra paranoid though.
