We had a lot of thunderstorms this past summer. In August we had an especially bad one. Lightening struck something on the street behind our house, and the news reported another house was struck by lightening in our plan. It was a slow moving storm and seemed to linger for awhile. Chloe was terrified. The storm obviously woke her up, and when we went to get her the power went out.

That was three months ago and Chloe will not go in her bedroom without her light on. She occasionally wakes up screaming and tells me there are booms! Thunder!

She woke up twice last night because of booms and slept in our bed. We've tried talking to her about why storms happen, that mama & papa won't let anything happen to her, that home is a safe place.. Nothing works!

How do we make her feel safe? Help her sleep through the night? To not be afraid anymore?
