I know I'm not on the boards much, BUT, I could use some advice on toddler sleep. Since we got back from vacation a couple of weeks ago I feel like Little P's sleep has been in the toilet!

Well, his naps are still good, but he takes forever to fall asleep at night! He's also been getting up in the night. I've heard this is a 2 year old "thing," but I'm wondering what to do about it. He will play in his crib for at least an hour before falling asleep and I'm sure it would be much, much longer if we didn't eventually go in there and rock him to sleep. I feel like the nights when he's up MOTN is because he's OT because he fell asleep so late!

Does anyone have tips on helping them fall asleep faster? Without creating bad habits? Also, did moving to a toddler bed HELP any of you with all of this? And did anyone cut naps short to help them fall asleep earlier? He's a power sleeper and we already wake him up at 3:30 from his nap (after a 3 hr nap), but I'm wondering if we should wake him at 3?

ETA: Well, we've been quite spoiled in terms of naps. He used to sleep from about 12:00-3:30 (we'd have to wake him) and would still go to sleep by 7:30 at night and sleep 11 hours! But, now he's usually asleep around 12:30 and I've still been waking him up around 3:30. I'm wondering if I should wake him even earlier now? So, he used to get over 14 hours of sleep a day and the way it is now, because it takes him so long to fall asleep, it's more like 13 hours.
