So....the vast majority of traditional household paints are now no to low VOC due to all the environmental regulations coming out. Stay away from your acrylics, solvent based paints, alkyds, and specialty formulations (for ceilings, baths, floors, etc). These aren't really the types of paints you'd put on your wall for a residential use, anyways

I've always used the Olympic and Valspar paints at Lowes because they offer a hefty military discount around the holidays...and that tends to be when we do all our big painting

But I also read that there's no studies showing the paint is definitely harmful during pregnancy, but they won't say it ISN'T harmful.

I bought a more expensive paint last time and thought it was well worth it. Rolled on so smoothly and didn't splatter. I was amazed!

@Foodnerd81: In my house, I've painted with Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore's Natura, and Behr. Of the three, the Natura kind of sucked (and I think they may have discontinued it, since I can't find it anymore) and I have spots on that wall where the paint has chipped from something bumping it. The Behr took two coats of primer and two coats of paint to cover well and was pretty thin. The Sherwin-Williams paint has been the best by far. They are forever sending me coupons in my email for 30%-40% off paint, so I've never paid full price. When I painted my bathroom, I just ran a fan to help ventilate it and it was no problem whatsoever.
