    I'm all set for day 2. Swung by my parent's house this morning to steal their coffee in a travel mug. I've got my lunch and snacks and I've got dinner defrosting. I sent SO with a packed lunch, too, so he won't spend money either!

    Day 2 is going well! No extra spending!

    Although tonight DH and I play on an sand volleyball league, and we always get beer and what-not there. Justifiable spending right? We do it every week, so it's not like it's a suprise or anything!

    @regberadaisy: FF? as in fertility friend? I already do, but don't temp so I'm trying OPK's but didn't spring for the digi's b/c they didn't come with as many & I wasn't sure when I'd O... if we don't get KU this month we're off until after summer! eek!

    @LovelyPlum: GREAT job!!!

    @rachiecakes: hold strong!

    @runsyellowlites: do you think you will be ovulating next week or this week? ETA: ooh maybe the OPK can be your freebie?!

    Um.....i'm not going to lie. I'm out....I don't want to explain in detail. Let's just say that Kohl's had a one day sale today and I went to "window shop" with my mom as "moral support" because she was buying new running shoes.
    I SUCK.

  10. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @TurtleDoves: HAHAHAHAHA I'm going to scold you! tsk tsk!

    Better luck next month! haha

    coconut / 8305 posts

    @regberadaisy: I figured sometime between today & Friday (from guessing for a 28 & 31 day cycle since I'm still kinda wacky)... the one I did just know looks like it could be almost positive, which is why it was suggested. I'd hate to use my freebie (trying to save it for a no cooking day.. lol)

    I should've just gotten the digi's to begin with... pfft to trying to be cheap! lol

    @TurtleDoves: LOL!

    @runsyellowlites: I would hate for you to miss your o date this month then have to wait another few months to TTC because of this! But if you *think* you're O-ing anyway just have a ton of sex! hahaha Why do you even need a OPK? hha

  13. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

    @regberadaisy: We're trying for a boy so we're abstaining until I'm pretty sure O is near. lol

    I think I'll just stick with these for now & test again later today to see if I catch it....

    I was getting groceries at TJs yesterday and put back a bag of snacks I placed in the cart without even thinking. That clearly was not a necessity. A small achievement but was very proud of myself.

    @regberadaisy: Day 2 and no spending! Damnit, but i am craving something sweet. Does it count if i pay for something with a prepaid coffee card?

  20. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

    @BoogieBea: That's awesome!!

  21. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @Freckles: haha me tooooo! Depends. Who paid for the prepaid card?! hahah

  22. Bao

    Still doing well over here! We originally had plans to go out to eat with friends tomorrow night but I asked if they wanted to get together after dinner and go to the farmer's market and walk around and then take our LO's to the park instead they thought that idea sounded much more fun, so yay!

  23. Freckles

    honeydew / 7444 posts

    @regberadaisy: I did, but it was last month! Why is that i want it more now that i realize i can't buy it?

  24. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @Bao: ooh good maneuver!

    @Freckles: haha I know! I'm not sure...maybe?

    What do the other ladies think?

  25. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

    @Freckles: I think if you already have the card, you can...since nothing is being spent.

  26. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

    @Bao: That sounds like a great plan for the evening!!!

    @Freckles: I think it's okay.... Pretty much as long as its not part of this weeks "bank/cc statement" I think it's okay.

  27. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @Bao: @Freckles: dang it! I only have like $1.50 on my Starbucks card! hahahha

  28. BoogieBea

    pomegranate / 3503 posts

    @regberadaisy: @runsyellowlites: Thanks! It seemed a bit ridiculous because it cost less than 2 bucks, but it was also not a healthy snack by any means so it was a better decision all around.

  29. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

    @BoogieBea: I think it's being lax with those little thing causes a much more casual outlook all around so I think it was a GREAT thing to think about & put back!

  30. BoogieBea

    pomegranate / 3503 posts

    @runsyellowlites: You are right and it all adds up! Thanks for that reminder! Hopefully, it makes turning down bigger unnecessary purchases easier in the future.

  31. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @BoogieBea: it's not though! I truly think it's all those *little* purchases that add up and kill a budget!

  32. BoogieBea

    pomegranate / 3503 posts

    @regberadaisy: You are right! My grocery bill was definitely a bit leaner this week because of this exercise!

  33. rachiecakes

    coconut / 8279 posts

    @BoogieBea: @runsyellowlites: @regberadaisy: I'll often go into Target to get nail polish remover and think, "I'll just get a new color.. hmm.. maybe an iced tea on the way out, too" and before I know it - bam! $20 gone! it does add up!

  34. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @rachiecakes: haha Target is E-vil!

  35. runsyellowlites

    coconut / 8305 posts

    @BoogieBea: Mine too! I couldn't believe I spent under 100 bucks!

  36. rachiecakes

    coconut / 8279 posts

    @regberadaisy: ugh, I know! it's two buildings over from our home, so it's our 'corner store' where we go to get bread, milk, diapers, etc.
    I'm in desperate need of a haircut and want to pay off some bills, so I'm trying to stick with this no spending thing for a few weeks this thread was a great idea!

  37. BoogieBea

    pomegranate / 3503 posts

    @rachiecakes: The beauty section is right in front of the check out section at our grocery store. I have to make it a point not to walk through those aisles when going to check out so I don't pick anything up. They're always having those buy one get one half off sales too.

  38. regberadaisy

    GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts

    @rachiecakes: ohmygod. For realz? I would suck with Target that close.....
    Oh! I was thinking of doing this the first week of every month! haha

  39. Bao

    GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts

    Oh my gosh those little purchases are the WORST! I go into Target and have the plan to get say diapers and dental floss but then I come out with a cart full! I need to stop that...

  40. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

    Target is the worst. The worst. I had to get a graduation card fory SIL, and I totally went out of my way not to go on there.
