I'm subscribed to the March 2016 birth board but I'm only getting post notifications sporadically. The last one I got was two hours ago, but there have been half a dozen posts since then.

@mrsrain: We only send emails when there's been a new post since the last time you visited the thread! Otherwise we'd be sending out a ton of emails, and would probably get blocked by the major email providers!!

@mrbee: hmmm... That makes perfect sense, however I am pretty sure I checked the thread when I got the e-mail and then not again until I saw it at the top of the page with 6 new comments (at which point I noticed that I hadn't gotten e-mailed). But perhaps I left it open in another window or something. I guess I'll keep an eye out and let you know if it happens again. Thanks for your quick response!

@mrsrain: That happened to me once and I was wondering what was up... but it turned out I wasn't signed in when I clicked on the email alert, so the server never knew I had visited the page! Is it possible that's what happened here?
