I had never heard of those but I have a somewhat similar futon for the kids. I bought it 4 years ago and the kids play with it all the time. It's starting to come apart at the adjoining seams (after a lot of rough play) but I hadn't considered intentionally turning it into pieces. What a great idea.

We have one and love it! My kids are super high energy and it rains a lot here (PNW) and j was tired of our couches getting destroyed. It’s used all.the.time. Most recently it has been a lion cave, rocks for a seal colony and currently set up as a (very luxurious) airplane. It felt like a crazy splurge but for my wrestling kiddos I feel like we’ve saved in ED copays alone

Our kids, 3.5 and 16 months, have one from last Christmas and it is awesome. It is perfect for fort building and ninja course set up. It is great for the younger kids to work on mobility and stability. Definitely worth the investment.

So those that have one, where do you keep it? Is it always out? In our new place we will have a small (but visible) playroom that’s only 10x12. Right off our main entry. We could also stash it in our basement. But I just foresee giant cushions everywhere.

@littlebit7 it is always out in our playroom either set up as a fort, sofa, or you can stack them pretty easily in the corner. We do have a lot of space in our playroom so it just gets put in one corner. I am bad with dimensions but 10x12 is good size? I honestly have no idea of the dimensions of ours maybe 12x12.

Our therapy clinic has them. They are very popular with the kids. Maybe down the road, we'll get some since we have gymnastic equipment that gets played on a lot.

So worth it in the winter! It’s good for sleepovers too.
We store the mattress type pieces under the bed. We have a bunk bed so they get pulled out and the kids launch themselves off the bunk bed onto the cushions pretty often. Our girls bedroom has 2 closets and the triangle pieces get stored in the closet or more frequently just left out.

I had never heard of this before this thread and now I feel like I need it.

This looks so cool - I need to convince my husband we should get one. I'm so sick of my couch cushions being used for this purpose every other day

@Becky: @MACSUNSHINE: @MenagerieMama: how long have you guys had your nugget and what kind of shape are they in? Wondering how well the foam holds up over time.
Thinking of splurging for Christmas! Thanks for your help.

@SweetCaroline: I think we’ve had ours for a year and it’s held up great! Especially considering the abuse it gets we don’t use it as a couch or bed or anything, but it’s a full time fort/agility course!

This looks awesome and exactly what we need for our playroom makeover...
@erinbaderin: have you found a way to order this from Canada?

Because of this post, I ordered one on Friday!! I can’t wait to have it in our playroom!

@charm55: Not without paying shipping! It's "only" $39 to me, I was just going to suck it up.

@SweetCaroline: We got ours for Christmas last year. We don’t really use it as a couch but rather to jump on. It’s in great shape. The cover is removable and washable too.

@sweetcaroline ours was a Christmas gift last year it has held up awesome. It is full time out in the playroom with two kids and a dog all over it (shih tzu mix). I haven’t even washed the covers yet, which makes me think I probably should 🤫, we have the navy. We did put pee pads in between the foam and cover as they suggest just in case of spills or accidents. They drag the cushions around and climb all over them. Very happy with the quality.

@erinbaderin: that’s not as bad as I was expecting actually, I’ll probably just suck it up too. I might wait and see if there’s a black Friday sale ..: I think my girls would love this and it would be perfect for the crazy long winters.

Mine is being delivered today, hooray! I went back and forth on how to get it in plenty of time for Christmas but not keep it in the box, which is apparently not good for it, and settled on telling the kids that it was an early Christmas present and just setting it up as soon as it arrives - not a moment too soon, because I can't count how many times I yelled "The couch is not a trampoline!" this weekend.

Okay! I'm sold on this! I, too, have a very visible play room right when you walk into my house. But I think this looks great. Where did you all purchase it from? The website indicates it is sold out.
nectarine / 2288 posts
@agold: they're sold out currently. I think there's a restock on Friday?
My kids are getting one from grandparents but we're going to order after Christmas since we won't be home anyway

Learn from my mistake, friends, and do not overhype this to your kids! I told my boys that there was an early Christmas present and they could open it right away. When we pulled it out my three year old burst into tears. “That’s not a present, that’s for SITTING ON!”
It’s pretty cool, though, and my five year old immediately started face planting into it.

@agold: He was devastated! “It doesn’t even LOOK like a present! Put it back in the box and let’s open a real present!” (In retrospect, I also put the presents under the tree way too early. I had my reasons but I see now that this is basically torture for them).

@erinbaderin: hahaha ! That is funny. I’m worried my kids will react the same way initially... its a joint gift from my parents and I’ve guaranteed them the girls will love it.
Today is my last chance (I think) to get a nugget before Christmas...They’ve sold out of everything but they’re restocking this afternoon and expect to sell out in minutes. I’ve got an alarm set, my sister set up as back up, and my fast fingers ready! The amount of anxiety this purchase has caused me is quite astounding...especially for a gift my kids don’t even know they want!!

@charm55: did you get one? My husband waffles on colors and we missed it.
apricot / 286 posts
@Ms.Mermaid: nope I was refreshing and online right at 12 EST for the drop. Had one in my cart, all my info submitted by 12:02 and got a “sorry we’re sold out” message. All the colours were gone in like 55 seconds or something. It was honestly stressful and I don’t think I’ll be going through that madness of a “drop” again...Hoping I can get one in 2020 when they are restocked and back to normal! I’m kicking myself for not buying it last month when I had it sitting in my cart ... I didnt know it would get so crazy!

@charm55: I didn't know there was a "drop" and i'm glad I missed on out on that anxiety. I have that kind of anxiety every year trying to buy tickets for a Christmas train that sells out in minutes. ugh. So when can we get these again? Any specific date in 2020?
apricot / 286 posts
@agold: hopefully early January they start restocking at a regular pace - though someone said it was March last year before they were fully stocked again

@charm55: I was also waiting at 12pm exactly and got the sold out message when I went to check out So disappointing! I ended up ordering a knock off from Amazon (same price), it is vinyl instead of fabric, but I figure easier clean up. Looks to be the same exact thing.
