oh i'd totally sit up in the dark and nurse with a cover. you could ask your other mom friends at your church and see what they think, too!

we have an awesome nursing room that is attached to the sanctuary with a one sided window, so we still feel a 'part' of the service, while lounging on couches nursing and eating our lunches. LOL. so thankful

I'd be more comfortable up top, less crowded but you can still hear the message.

I always nursed right where I was if I needed to, even in church. Maybe it's because I'm in liberal Seattle, or maybe it's because until 6 months ago, my husband couldn't come to church with me (work schedule) so I was juggling a baby on my own, but when I nursed him with a cover, more people smiled at me and were helpful to me than not. No one seemed judgmental about it, so I'd say nurse where you want. That said, that church had just added a cry room-- people were pretty used to seeing little babies in church, so it's not like there was a designated room where I could go.

I would go to the top too.

I'll nurse wherever I am, including in church. I think of all places, church should be child-friendly. "Let the little children come unto me..." I hardly think God would be offended by breastfeeding during worship!

I would (and have) stay where I am and nurse....well, until she started flipping the cover off, and then I went back to the foyer for the entire service because she was loud. But, I go to church in Berkeley, so I'm pretty sure that people are just thankful that I wear I cover.
If you feel like other people are going to be offended or uncomfortable, I'd say that dark row up top is pretty darn private. I personally hated being in the nursing room, everyone just chats away like it's social hour.
