I just used thin cloth wipes.

I used little lambs bamboo reusables and thought they were great. They were just a flat circle but they stayed in place for me, they were quite textured which I think helped. I never had any probs with leakage, but I don't think I leaked that heavily.

Ok, I NEVER thought I'd use reusable ones, but after buying probably like 10 jumbo packs of the disposable ones I was like, enough is enough. So finally I did a TON TON TON of research through amazon reviews and ended up with these:

I really liked them. They're pretty thick but I didn't have a problem with them showing through my bra. Because the outside is lace, they kinda stuck to the inside of my bra because of the friction. I never had a problem with them sticking to my skin. I changed them daily and threw them in with the kids' laundry. I liked them so much, I was kinda sad to throw them out when I was done, but I couldn't sell or even give away used nursing pads... lol

@sorrycharlie: so I was a heavy wetter too. I waited until I was a bit more under control before switching to these. And I found them to be similar to the disposables, but a big difference is that since it's cotton it breathes and doesn't get cold either.

I used disposables at first because I leaked a lot, but I hated them -- they made me itch! When I first switched to reusables, I still leaked through at letdown but I actually kept a stack of washcloths near where I usually nursed LO and just stuffed one of them in. Bamboobies overnights were usually okay at night, though I did occasionally leak through...I just dealt with it. But overall, I liked the Bamboobies during the day after my supply regulated and I was so much happier when I stopped using the disposable ones.
