Our go-to is the football hold at 3.5 months and has been since 6.5 weeks.
What was your go-to after the newborn days?

@autumnlove: @hilsy85: LO and I are waiting for the twin mattress for his room to arrive so that we can safely cobed and do side-lying!

Football hold is tied with side lying for #1. He's just starting to want to nurse sitting up, though. ETA: I meant cradle, not football. I never got the hang of football.

I nurse lying down 90% of the time! The rest of the time I cradle.

@septemberlove: Great!! I also use cradle when we are out..I hate it!

Cross-cradle on the right and football on the left. Just a habit we got into when she was a NB.
For @septemberlove and others who use football a lot: Do you use it when you NIP? I find it really awkward, but I'm so used to doing football on the left that I have a really hard time going back to cross-cradle!

Cradle hold and the occasional session side-lying are our main positions but I've also indulged in a spot of dangle nursing when Miss A went on a bit of strike from teething.

We did side-lying and cradle for a long time. We still do side-lying for our MOTN session, but otherwise he really likes to sit on my lap facing me (or stand or kneel between my legs, depending on where I am) and nurse that way. He also wants both boobs out and available, and goes back and forth between them. It's pretty funny looking, according to DH.

side lying & cradle once past the newborn days. Now he likes to sit up on my lap or sometimes I just lay on my back on the ground, whip out the boob, and let him come to me. lol I'm lazy sometimes.

@mrskc: I'm too frightened that A is going to bite if I let her self-latch!

we did cradle from day 1. we didn't figure out side lying until around 8 months, and he never really liked it that much!

@hergreenapples: I use football out and about, I bring my boppy when we go out (I just tuck it in the little basket under his stroller) and ill find a chair with a back or a changing room and position him and the boppy between me and the back of the chair (so I'm sitting sideways in the chair) and the back of the chair provides a lot of privacy from the occasional unexpected pop-off and once he's done, he is content to just kind of snooze under my arm, on the boppy, which is nice in restaurants!

Maybe we'll give the cradle position a try, it sounds like it works really well!

We just weaned at 13.5 months and cradle hold is the ONLY position we ever got the hang of! I could never figure out how any of the other positions worked! Luckily, I really liked cradle hold, as did LO.

I loved the football hold and did that until about 3 months. Then he would always just push his feet off the back of the couch, that was annoying.
Now we just do he cradle hold.

Cradle or Cross-Cradle since the beginning with the Boppy. I don't think my boobs are quite big enough to do side-laying, though I try sometimes when I'm super tired. Always scared that I'm going to roll onto her though.

Side lying, and as she got older, her sitting in my lap. Those are all we do now at 22 months.
