My 2 month old just recently became more fussy, which seemed to coincide with more gassiness. But along with it he's now fussing at the breast. I'd say 95% of the time his feedings are short lived. He isn't *always* fussing/crying. Sometimes it starts off good where he drinks for a solid few minutes on one breast -- under 10 minutes for sure. Then he starts pulling off the breast willingly, and relatches himself (or I help). Sometimes he's crying or fussing, other times just quiet but quickly trying to get back on. Eventually, he will get frustrated and cry a bit so I've been constantly switching sides. And at some feedings I know *for sure* it's his gas causing the upset, but a lot of other times he seems generally OK, so I'm left really confused.

I *did* notice my supply went down a bit because I stopped doing the full pumping in the middle of the night, and he started pushing back his night time feed.

I've tried compressing the breast while he's on it to encourage more milk flow, and thus hoping it'd bring more reward so he'd be less fussy but it isn't helping a whole lot.

I'm getting concerned because he's also spitting up a good bit of milk every now and then. His total nursing time is usually around 10-15 minutes, I think. I haven't clocked it but it's way shorter than it used to be, and we're constantly switching sides. I will say that he seems to have the same amount of wet diapers though... so maybe I shouldn't worry too much?

Did anyone else experience this? If so, do you think it was just a weird short-lived phase or was it linked to anything in particular? Note: This has been going on since just before last weekend some time.
