October 2013 POAS!

    Thanks for the welcomes.

    @lindsayinny: Ovacue is a saliva-based fertility monitor but it is different than other ovulation predictors because it also has a vaginal sensor that measures electrolyte changes in cervical mucus. So it goes a step further in that it can confirm that ovulation has occurred. Its so crazy because I learned that I ovulated on CD17 when I had thought it was actually 2 days before then....

    Hopefully that makes sense? I am new to it so I don't know a lot about it yet. So please excuse my layperson description!

    Well, I had a potentially awkward situation today. I was going to be at work all afternoon and into the evening today but wanted to take an opk. So I brought a dollar store one along and then proceeded to forget it in the bathroom at work. I drove halfway home before realizing it! I decided to go back and cross my fingers it hadn't been discovered. Thankfully, no one saw it but I had to make up an excuse as to why I came back and had to go to the bathroom. Being a dollar store test it looks like a pregnancy test too so it would have required a bit more explanation than I really want to offer.

    @littlebit @lindsayinny: me neither! I have been around the block when it comes to infertility so was surprised I hadn't come across ovacue before when my friend mentioned it to me. I will of course keep you guys posted on whether or not my love affair with it continues :).

    Has anyone else experienced an unusually short AF ? The past 2 months have been so completely un normal for me and Im not sure if I should call my Endo or if she will think im crazy?? Last month it was about 2 days, very light and this month started late Saturday night and by last night it was basically gone. I am on Synthroid and my TSH is .98 but last time I saw her she said it looked perfect for ttc.. hmm very confused.

    nectarine / 2932 posts

    @runnerd: @Marfi: Hahaha! Yes! Another Excel nerd over here

    @Lugrey508: Oh my gosh, me me me! Last month was 4 days, with one day of medium, the rest all very light. This month was 3 days, one day medium, the other two super light. I don't know what is going on! Very weird. I'm not normally super heavy to begin with, but this is just bizarre.

    @Littlebit: That's so weird! Normally before this whole ttc process I probably would have been happy about it! Now its just another thing to make me crazy!

    Good morning ladies...well I FINALLAY O'ed on CD21 (this past Saturday) so my POAS date should be changed to October 12. Which happens to be the 5 year anniversary of my father's passing. Keeping my fingers crossed that such a sad day can be made a little happier.

    Hello! This is my first time posting on here, exciting.

    Cycles Trying: This is the 4th one.
    Current Cycle Day: CD3
    Estimated Ovulation Date: Around CD15 or so.
    POAS Date: Around October 27.
    BD Timing: I think SMEP.
    Anything new or extra this cycle? This is our fourth cycle, but it's the first time I'm going to try the sperm meets egg plan. I'm looking forward to that. (Weird.) I like having things planned out.

    Bonus Question: What is your favorite holiday? Definitely Christmas. I cannot wait.

    OK - another quick question. Since today is more than likely 2DPO (waiting for the crosshairs to appear on my chart after another high temp tomorrow morning)...should I start taking my progesterone supplements tonight?

    Happy Monday everybody! I have a question about timing BD'ing. This is our first month really trying and the hubby is feeling lots of pressure to have sex exactly to my schedule. I just didn't think he thought it would be so exact or organized... poor guy! Luckily, he's doing fine.

    I am using OPK's and Saturday and Sunday the test and control lines were the same color, meaning positive. But this morning the test line was darker- even better right? So we BD Sunday at noon and this morning before he left for work at 7 am. Hoping I get my temp spike tomorrow morning. (Also, before the positive OPK's began, we were trying to BD every other day when my CM started.)

    My question is this: do you BD after your temp spike just in case the egg is still there or is it pretty much a done deal? What if I get another positive OPK tonight? I don't know if the hubby will be up for round two! Any advice is welcome! Also, I don't use Fertility Friend FYI

    @princessandthebee: Hi there! Sorry I don't have any answers for you, but just wanted to say we're in the exact same boat -- I'm new too, and this is our first month really trying. I got +OPKs last Wed and Thurs and like yours, my DH was surprised at the scheduling aspect of the whole thing. He had a really tough week at work and was not so much in the mood... but muddled through for Wed and Fri BD.

    FWIW, I got my temp spike on Sun and we did it that morning anyway... can't hurt, right?!

    I'm pretty stoked about my chart...! Trying not to get too giddy, since I know there is plenty of time for my temps to plummet.

    @ottilie: welcome!

    @princessandthebee: Personally, I don't usually BD once I have a temp spike.

    @whatsarahsaid: I'm sorry, I don't know much about progesterone...if no one chimes in here I would probably call my dr. just in case!

    @loopedd: Hi! Glad to be learning the ropes together! Timing sex is way more work than I thought it would be.

    @doxielove: Oooo, looking really good so far!

    @princessandthebee: I also usually stop the BD once there is a temp shift. Sounds like you have covered your bases very well already. Having done a lot of cycles in the past, I can say that forcing too much BD gets old pretty fast and I'm not sure it really changes the outcome anyway!
