So my husband thinks that one of the reasons Xander's not interested in solids (and just flat our refuses them) is because he's not hungry. We've been offering him solids about an hour after I nurse him. He thinks we should offer him the solids first when he's hungry, and then he'll be more likely to eat them, and then I'll nurse after.

Is this is a good idea? I don't want to replace any of the milk that he gets with solids, so this plan makes me nervous. I don't know how much we would feed him (assuming he takes any of it) before nursing because he won't be full and I won't want to let him get full so that he nurses after.

My thoughts are that if his appetite is not increasing and he's totally satisfied with nursing only, there's no need to try to force him to take solids and that we can just keep offering and if he doesn't eat them, that's not a big deal. But I don't really know - should we try to at least get him used to solids now by feeding them to him when he's hungry? And then maybe when he's comfortable with eating them, we can switch back to nursing first?

What do you all think?
