ours is fake, so it doesn't die & motivate me to take it down. not sure the longest i've left it up, but i'm pretty lazy, so probably too long. this year, it already came down because our kitty was trying to eat it when his belly hurt. it still needs to be taken to the basement though, it's sitting in the red storage bag waiting for mr. bird to carry it down.

@mrs. bird: Yeah DH is ready, but I love it ad it takes up no room...an we have no cats...lol...it is turning into a New Year tree...lol

This was our first year putting it up, it went up the day after thanksgiving and came down on New Year's Day though if DH had his way it would be up until Memorial Day (or through next Christmas)!

In england it is tradition to take everything down after the 6th jan but it makes me sad, i'd have it up till Easter haha

@FaithFertility: we have a fake potted non christmas tree between the living area & dining area (our apartment has one big living space for the living/dining room) & it has white christmas lights and a cardinal ornament on it that's up all year, lol, i totally get wanting to leave your pretty, twinkly tree up! our potted tree satiates that need for me & kitty doesn't mess with it

I'm actually taking mine down as we speak, but I'm keeping the garland up until next weekend.
I'm quite comfortable keeping Christmas decorations up until Epiphany. Although I don't celebrate any religion that celebrates Epiphany....It's still fun. It's allegedly when the three kings finally arrived to the Baby Jesus. And it allows me to justify keeping up decorations longer. LOL.

We're planning on taking it down either today or tomorrow. It's still in good condition, but LO has been messing w/the ornaments so we had to move everything to the top - and now the tree looks super lopsided and it's bugging me.
And the constant pine needles on the floor are driving me insane.

Probably a week after New Year's. I hate taking it down. We got a fake one this year and I totally would have kept it up until Valetine's Day (or just left it up all year and changed decorations for different holidays) but D made me take it down on the 29th to make room for some furniture we were getting delivered the next day

We usually take it down right after new year. I packed up the lights/ornaments yesterday and DH is taking it out today. We get a real tree and its dead lol.

Mine is still going strong too but I always take it down the weekend after New Years. I've been cleaning up all my decorations this morning. The tree looks so sad now that it's bare.

ours is still up... I think ours comes down to just being a tad bit lazy about putting it away because it stays pretty since it's fake. Baby girl likes to look at the lights too and since she's still small there is no danger of pulling it down

Our tree is still up but the ornaments are packed away and we aren't turning the lights on anymore. It's fake and I need DH's help taking it apart and packing it away. I usually put everything away on the 1st or 2nd. This is the longest it's been up.

Our tree usually gets put up over Thanksgiving weekend and gets taken down by the first weekend after New Year's Day for pick-up by a local Boy Scouts troop. I get a little bummed putting all the Christmas decorations away; the house looks kind of blah after having so much cheer up for the past few weeks!

I'm not sure what the longest has been. If DH had his way, it would still be up! I was ready to take it all down and feel like we have so much more space now.

I ️ christmas trees!
I haven't put water in our tree base since christmas, but it's still soooooo green and beautiful.
This is the longest we have ever had it, which is just under a month.

@Crystal: I am right there with you, it is staying until it departs from us.....lol

Our was going to come down today, but now that I finally have some says off from work after the craziness that was Christmas/New Year I have of course come down with something. So instead I'm curled up in the couch with a blank and lemsip.
Think the longest we ever left it was mid january

@HolisticMama: we keep ours up until at least Epiphany! Usually the weekend after, actually. We have a real tree that we got on December 9, and it is still going strong!

Also, since taking Christmas decorations down makes me sad, we replace them with snowmen! So I have to dig those out and put them up, too
