Oooh.... I would love to know some more about things you mentioned in your introduction!
1. How did you feel about getting "into bed" with Monsanto? (loved the way you put that... lol)
2. What does "unconventional" conventional farming mean?

Do you have to butcher/put down animals? Is this so horrible? (I can't imagine that but farmers seem like it's no big deal.)

Just wanted to resurrect this to thank everyone who chimed in, and to let you all know that I am going to do a series. You had such good questions, and there was just too much to treat in one post (how's that for a politician-style non-answer?). I do plan to answer all of the questions, and I swear on a stack of booklets from corn college that I won't forget about what any of you wanted to know. But there is only so much writing one woman can do with a sleeping baby on one side and a snoring husband on the other!

@Mrs. Twine: this is a silly question but I keep having images of Laura going to feed the animals via a clothesline in a snow storm a la Little house on the prairie! hahah

Who does what work?
What time do you get up and moving in the morning (when do you get started?) What time is all the work done?
What happens if you go away - who takes care of the farm? How does that work? Are you ever able to get away?

@Regberadaisy; Not silly at all. Actually we are in a blizzard right now, so I can picture my husband using a clothesline, too. In reality, we have several groves of mature evergreens, and one of mature cottonwoods, so we are fairly protected from wind. This morning when Eric went to do barn chores he was able to see his way there. Once his dad almost got lost in a snowstorm, so it is/can be a real issue!
