What did/ do you do with your older LO (s) during doctors appointments, especially prenatal ones when there are so many?
So far I've brought C to my eye doctor and dentist appointments- both had said it was fine before she was even born. It's definitely getting a little harder as she gets older but I can usually make do between snacks and Daniel Tiger on the iPod.
I SAH so no child care, and no family in the area who could watch her.

I think what you're doing sounds fine.
So far I have had lo stay with grandma, but I've had a lot of ultrasounds and a few where we really were expecting the worst, and my lo has a huge fear of dr offices.. We brought her to just see my dermatologist once and she still freaked out!

I took my son to a few appointments with me. I tried to schedule them for when he was in daycare, but some days it wasn't possible. My OB let him "help" with the ultrasound machine.

We are in the same situation and she comes with me to everything! I load up the iPad with Bubble Guppies and give her Goldfish crackers when we enter the room. Seems to work so far! Most people are understanding, but ultrasound techs can be a bit sniffy about it, I have found. I just tell them I have no choice so that's what's going to happen.

my OB said she was welcome, but i have dropped her off with friends and will try to schedule future appts for when she's in preschool.

My mom usually watcheS her. She's incredibly well behaved but is extremely curious and busy and there's no way in hell she would just chill while I get checked out. She'd be into everything. Especially now that I'm getting weekly cervical checks!

DD came to 90% of DS#1 and DS#2 prenatal appointments. They just hung out during my appointments. DS#1 would stay in the stroller and DD would just sit there. It only got weird when they started to check me internally....
My kids loved coming, they always got a lollipop when the appointment was done! hahaha

I'm in your same position with my 3 year old. Unless I can get an appointment on one of the two mornings a week she's in preschool, she comes with me. She actually LOVES my obgyn and calls him her friend. He has four kids himself and is great with her. It's all worked out really well.

Glad to hear so many people have brought them with no issues. Forgot to mention I strap her in the stroller so she can't really get into anything.
@travelgirl1: at least at the ultrasound appts Dh will come too so she can sit in his lap and he can pay attention to her a little. And hopefully I will only have two.

My daughter was always in daycare and I was going from work to my appointments, but the nurse always said "You're alone today?" so I think she wanted to see my daughter!

I have a 2 year old and she comes with me to everything! I strap her in the stroller and have a good video on my phone for her and lots of snacks. It hasn't ever been a problem. I also have no childcare and my DH can't always be there.

I WAH so she always came with me. I had someone watch her for my lengthy ultrasounds but I had a few that I did have to take her to, and she did great! No one ever made a big deal of it or seemed to mind.

DS came to one prenatal appointment when I was pregnant with #2, but DH was with us. I never took him to any doctors appointment by myself, including prenatal appointments. My OB actually asked why I DIDNT bring him to my appointments. I told him there was no way he would sit still.

I took my then 7-16 month old to all my appointments when I was pregnant with #2. it was ok! just snacks and strapped into the stroller. all the docs and nurses were fine with it.
pregnant with #3 now and I guess I'll have to bring both toddlers with me, but it's going to be way harder I think!

@Foodnerd81: my midwives have actually asked me to bring K...they want to see her (cause they delivered her). So while I usually have her in daycare, I think I'll take her one afternoon.

I take my three year old to all my midwife appointments - they encourage it. She just colors, reads books, hangs out.

I took my LO to all my prenatals. He was 5 months to 13 months throughout them so still in his infant carrier for part of it -- and then later on his stroller.
