Wow, how tragic. I can't imagine what either sets of parents are going through.

I know! Not too long ago there was a thread on here about the appropriate age to let your child go to the park alone. I'm am mending my answer to never.

The killer is mentally ill, but he knew what he did was wrong. So awful for the 9 year old's family.

That is so sad. I can't even imagine how heartbreaking it is to both families.
And how weird to be the neighbor that let the child use their phone and then to hear that conversation with 911...

So sad.
