So the husband and I are pre-TTC. I've got an OB/GYN appointment at the end of this month, and I've got a few health-related questions for the doc, but as long as I get the-all clear, we'll be TTC by February 1st.

In my excitement, I started researching childcare costs and OH MY GOD IT IS SO EXPENSIVE. Like, significantly more than our mortgage.

We're kind of freaking out now. We knew it would be very pricey but it's even more than we'd anticipated. My husband and I both make decent salaries, but we can't afford for one of us to quit our jobs and stay home with a baby. We don't have any family nearby who are willing or able to provide free or cheap child care.

Did anyone struggle with childcare costs? How did you make it work?
