So like I mentioned before, I have whooping cough possibly with Atypical Pneumonia and I was prescribed Prednisone to help open my airways.
For the first two days I just had a hot face and a little heart racing, but today I feel super shaky and my arms are burning (really warm feeling). I'm also super tired. I guess it's all normal, but there is no way I can work like this...luckily my classes are only in the morning right now.

Omg! I've given D prednisone before, I had no idea those were the side effects! Hope you can get some rest soon.

I've had to be on prednisone before after anaphylactic reactions due to food allergies. It was terrible and I was only on it a day or so -- I feel terribly for you!! 
Hope you feel better soon. Not fun at all.

Yeah, DH has been on prednisone since he was a baby for his severe asthma. He's on it off and on. I don't know what dose you're on, but at his worse, DH was on 60 mg a day! Dr say it's an old & established drug that works, but it's like a hammer. It treats & helps what it's meant for but also disrupts everything else. Usually the good outweighs the bad effects. Hopefully you'll be off it soon. Hope you feel better soon.
ETA: Ugh, I asked DH. He was at 160 mg! Yeah, he needed it that bad and the side effects were bad.

I was given prednisone for hives when they got really bad one year... the side effects were awful - so shaky and jittery and couldn't sleep! It completely weakens your immune system too!

I'm only on a four day course and I took the last dose at lunch. This whole illness I've been fine, now I feel like I've been hit with a bus. But the end is in sight...

I've been on prednisone for 7 weeks and will have to take it until my OB decides otherwise to help keep my pregnancy going and it does indeed suck. (I'm taking it specifically to weaken my immune system). Can't wait to kick it to the curb!

Prednisone is hell. I took it once for seven days, got fed up, skipped the last day, and then felt like I was going to die. It was misery.
My father was on it for 21 years, and I seriously do not know how he managed it. He gained almost 100 pounds in the first six months.

@sarac: Yeah, DH is usually on a high dose of it and NEEDS to taper off of it. Once he didn't and he had a prednisone induced psychosis! Not to scare anyone but when his asthma is bad (like he needs to go to the ER bad), prednisone will help him breath and keep him from dying. Like I said, the good outweighs the bad for him. It's life & death for him sometimes. Luckily, his asthma has been fairly under control with the diagnosis of triggers and the use of other medications, so his prednisone use has gone down. It's still a go-to medicine when he is on the brink of going to the ER. It might prevent him from going to the ER, but sometimes his asthma is so bad he needs to go and no amount of oral prednisone will help. He (and I) love it and hate it.

Wow, you ladies are making me feel lucky! I'm also on prednisone, but the only side effect I've experienced is extreme hunger!!
Do you ladies make sure to take it in the morning with food? My doctor was very specific about NOT taking it at night and taking it in the morning with food. Maybe that helps? Or maybe it's because I'm taking a lower dose? I'm on 60mg/day.

@Adira: I'm only on 40mg! I was fine for the first two days, it got a little weird yesterday and today sucked. But I'm done so hopefully it will get better!

@Adira: I have to take it three times a day! Always most definitely with food though. I have no interest in finding out what it does to you with an empty stomach!!
