This is my first month off BC, so we just started TTC, but I just wanted to say that I understand how annoying that is. I have a high school classmate who is currently 4 months pregnant. She got married a month after me and we're both 22/23. One of my really good friends (friend since middle school/bridesmaid/college roommate, aka we were really close) is completely supportive of the other girl but she's against DH and I having kids yet because its "a different situation."

So not completely the same as what you're going through, but I get it. Its hard to be around those people... I wish I had some good advice

But seriously, do you need that type of negative energy in your life?
I would just tell that you think it's great that she's TTC and leave it at that. I mean, if she's a good friend I would hope she'd be sensitive and not rub it in your face if she were to get pregnant before you.

She sounds like a pain in the you know what. Do people really announce that they are going off BC ? And that they are sure they will be a fertile myrtle? I wouldn't bother with supportive and kind, it doesn't sound like she is interested in being supportive and kind towards you. Pleasant would probably be my limit but I am mean! Main thing is to work out how to protect yourself and look out for you.

On the other hand, there's a chance she'll have a hard time TTC, in which case you can be GRACIOUSLY smug and self-satisfied.

On the other hand, you could come up with something to say that makes it clear that it is insulting, immature, and generally not socially accepted behavior to talk about another person's fertility unless specifically invited to do so.

I would separate myself from her. Something similar happened to me, with people who were telling me when I got engaged, why do you want to be married, don't have kids, we're too young, etc, getting married and having kids before me...so I figured they were jealous, lol! But seriously, if she's in the mindset where she's thinking about having a baby, then she should know it's a sensitive topic and shouldn't talk like that, IMO.
Ooooh nvm I just read the second post. Well, in that case, I would avoid her where possible and when not see if you can avoid the topic. Or, tell her straight up that it makes you uncomfortable to talk about it. I hope she wouldn't have the audacity to continue to brag...

This kind of thing is so hard. Honestly, I never thought it would be this isolating... after I had a MC friends that were TTC or pregnant literally didn't want to be around me. I guess my only advice would be to do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. If that means distancing yourself, do it!
