Clover, one of our boston terriers, collapsed this morning on the kitchen floor. We took her to the vet and they found that she has right-side heart failure. We're not sure of her life expectancy from here but, I guess we're not talking years. Pretty cruddy way to celebrate Valentine's Day - being told your dog is dying and then being slapped with a $1000 vet bill.

oh, i'm so sorry! losing a pet really is losing a friend or a family member, they're always there when you get home and show you so much affection and bring such joy to your life. i hope you are able to enjoy what time clover has left and that her time here with you is as comfortable as possible. hugs to you, your family & clover!!!

i'm really sorry that you're going through this. losing a pet is so heartbreaking, i'm reluctant to get another pet!
clover doesn't know that anything is wrong with her and is just happy to be a part of your family. i hope you can enjoy the time you have together.

Oh my, I am so sorry. As a pretty big dog lover myself, I know just how much these little creatures become part of the family. It's so, so tough to lose them, but I think the best thing you can do is be there for Clover until the end and let her know how much you adore her.
